Exchange Visitor Program

The Exchange Visitor (J) nonimmigrant visa category is for individuals approved to participate in work-and-study-based exchange visitor programs. These are multifaceted programs that give opportunities to travel and gain training experience to foreign nationals in the United States.

Programs Benefits

  • Interns can have a 12-month period of training while Trainees can spend 12 to 18-months depending on the Host.

  • Experience to work in a 4 or 5-star US hotel.

  • Receive an international certificate.

  • Some Hosts offer assistance and/or subsidized accommodation.

  • Have free meals during shifts.

  • Attend cultural activities within the hotel.

  • Discounts and/or access to hotel amenities.

  • Receive stipend that ranges from $9 to $15 per hour.
